Over the past 25 years, Vietnam Airlines has grown continuously and become a prestigious airline in the world thanks to its strength in a modern flight crew, extensive flight network and convenient connection schedules.

Impressive milestones

Starting with irregular domestic flights, Vietnam Airlines has so far to become the leading airline in Vietnam, operating to 22 domestic and 33 international destinations with an average of 400 takeoff flights per day.

In 2006, after obtaining the prestigious certificate of safety for operating IOSA, Vietnam Airlines officially became a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and affirmed the service quality of international standards.

On June 10, 2010, Vietnam Airlines became the 10th airline to join the SkyTeam global airline alliance. This event marked a remarkable development of the airline in the process of successfully integrating into the international market with an expanded route network to more than 1,000 destinations globally.

On July 2015, Vietnam Airlines initially implemented a plan to modernize the new generation of aircraft crews, becoming the first airline in the world to simultaneously receive and put into operation two most modern aircraft lines, Boeing. 787-9 Dreamliner and Airbus A350-900 XWB. Currently, the airline owns one of the youngest and most modern fleets in Asia with more than 100 aircrafts in the lines such as Boeing 787-9, Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner, Airbus A350-900 XWB, Airbus A321NEO .. With the resources of Vietnamese pilots, flight crews and technicians completely mastering the world’s advanced technology.

On July 12, 2016, Vietnam Airlines became the first and only airline in Vietnam to be awarded the 4-star international airline rating and rating by Skytrax by British Aviation Rating and Evaluation Organization. This is the recognition of the world aviation industry before the efforts and development of Vietnam Airlines in recent years, while affirming the position of the National Airlines as a bridge for trade, culture, tourism between “S-shaped country” with the world. Although the market and passengers have constantly improved their service requirements in the following years, Vietnam Airlines still maintains the 4-star quality of Skytrax for four consecutive years (2016 – 2019) and is taking steps that upgrade to 5-star standard
