MR. THIEU PHUONG NAM
Country Manager of Qualcomm Vietnam, Lao & Cambodia
BIOGRAPHY
Nam Thieu oversees Qualcomm’s business and operations in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia with the goal of driving 4G5G and next generation of wireless technology adoption and usage in this region.
Prior to joining Qualcomm, Nam was Territory Executive, General Business for IBM Vietnam, in charge of broad business portfolio including banking & financial service, telco, enterprise, education, healthcare and government segments. In addition to that role, he also served as the Branch Manager for HCMC & Danang branches, responsible for all aspects of its business and operations. Prior to IBM, Nam spent 12 years with Intel in Vietnam. He started as the Head of Intel Vietnam’s Networking and Communication division and throughout his tenure at Intel, Nam held various management & leadership positions including Country Sales Manager for Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia and Country Manager for Cambodia. As one of a few pioneers of Intel in the country, Nam led the development of Intel’s business to become one of the fastest growing countries worldwide through driving several strategic initiatives with the government authorities and OEMs & ecosystem partners to increase the adoption of information and communication technologies in the business, consumer, government and education sectors.
Nam Thieu received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from Saint Petersburg State Electro-technical University and Ph.D. degree in technical sciences from Moscow State University of Transportation.
