BIOGRAPHY

Phan Thao Nguyen was the General Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Information and Communications responsible for international cooperations in information and communications sector.

Nguyen entered the Post and Telecom sector in 1994 after graduating from the Law and Technology University.

From 1994 to 1996 he worked at the Department of General Posts and Telecommunications where he was in charge of drafting internal regulations, preparing important policies for the development of the P&T sector as well as for the long – term P&T Industry Development Strategy of Vietnam.

In 1997 he was appointed Assistant of the President & CEO of the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT). He held this position until 2000 and his responsibilities included, advising the President & CEO on management strategy, legal matters and the preparation of the investment portfolio.

From 2008 to 2013 Mr. Nguyen was the Deputy General Director of Information and Public Relations Center (IPC) under the management of VNPT, responsible for management, international cooperations in the Post and Telecom sector. He was also a regular presenter at international telecom forums and conferences.

Phan Thao Nguyen obtained a Doctor of Laws degree in 2006.
