BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Han Minh Cuong is the chairman, CEO, and founder of ACUD Group. He is now a guest lecturer in planning – related topics of Hanoi Architectural University. Apart from that, he has played the chairman, expert positions for many urban planning, technical infrastructure projects in Vietnam. His major areas are urban planning and management, and technical infrastructure. Dr. Han Minh Cuong has in – depth knowledge of planning, technical infrastructure, GIS, and a doctoral degree in urban management.

Dr. Han Minh Cuong has consulted planning, technical infrastructure and urban management solutions for many provinces in Vietnam. He is the author of CSGIS – Smart urban management software (1st National urban management award in Vietnam), and articles in smart urban planning and management. He has consulted on smart urban management solutions through the application of GIS for state agencies in urban planning management, businesses in project management and operation. Dr. Han Minh Cuong attends annual research of the Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Information and Communications in science, technology, and environment areas.

ABSTRACT

The presentation focuses on proposing solutions for URBAN MANAGEMENT AND PLANNING TOWARD SMART URBAN ORIENTATION IN VIETNAM

The first part of the presentation is about targets in smart urban development in Vietnam, assessing the actual demand in urban management and planning via published regulatory documents. Thus, assessing what has been achieved, the existing problems and inadequacies in urban management and planning, and using that as the foundation for new urban management solutions in Vietnam for the next period.

The second part of the presentation will be about some solutions for smart urban management and planning during the planning process, planning process management, and introduction to smart urban management software using the GIS platform.
